Museum On Prime Ministers
The Museum on Prime Ministers at the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library created by Tagbin is a panoramic display of India’s journey through the lens of its Prime Ministers over the last 75 years. The museum is the perfect amalgamation of history and art, with a blend of modern technology bringing the lives and contributions of the Prime Ministers to life. On 14 April 2022, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi unveiled the museum for the masses to witness a new era of historical spectacle.
75 Years Of History In 7.5 Hours
The museum houses 7.5 hours of immersive content and is a detailed walk-through of every Prime Minister’s vision for the country. The Prime Ministers’ galleries are broadly divided into different themes starting from their early life, political journey, making of a Prime Minister, significant works under their Prime Ministership, challenges they faced, their retirement and lastly, their later phase.
The PM galleries are based on the size of their leadership and not on the size of their tenures. Thus, a balance has been struck in the content by presenting the lives of all the Prime Ministers through the impacts that their contributions made on the nation and not merely by their tenures of office.
The museum maintains a fine blend of static and audiovisual content, memorabilia, archival letters & documents, digital panels, art installations and interactive exhibits. Different experiences like that of the Green Revolution by Shastriji, the 1971 War and Economic Revolution by Narsimha Rao have been brought to life in the museum. The visitors can also relive the Pokhran Nuclear Tests of 1998 with an immersive experience of a nuclear testing station.
The Essence Of The Museum
New-aged technologies like AR, VR and Robotics have been used in the curation of an Engagement Zone called Anubhuti. The visitors become the center of the museum here, where exhibits revolve around them and they get a chance to participate, play and learn.
AR-integrated exhibits such as Stroll with PM and Selfie with PM enable the visitors to record a video of them walking with their favorite PM or take home a picture clicked with them. Another exhibit is the VR-integrated Helicopter Ride where viewers can see some of India’s futuristic projects. With an AI-built Handwriting Robot, visitors can also take home a personalized letter signed by a PM of their choice.
In the exhibit India 2047, visitors are offered a chance to give suggestions for their vision of India 25 years from now. Another exhibit called Sketch and Bring a Mission to Life lets the kids draw and complete missions such as Mangalyaan and Chandrayaan, where they learn while being creative.
In an exhibit called Unity Chain, visitors stand shoulder to shoulder with other Indians to create the longest digital human chain holding hands.
Tech-enabled Museum
The entire museum is an extravagant phenomenon, beginning with an entrance adorned with a 3D-printed National Emblem levitating in the air. To add to this appeal is an artistic mobile installation of 1200 synchronized kinetic LED lights suspended from the ceiling. It immerses the onlooker in a kaleidoscope of the waving Tiranga.
Tagbin made the museum a complete sensory experience with their developed audio guide system. The visitor can choose their handheld audio device and select their preferred language which makes the whole ordeal a 360-degree experience that consists of clear voice-overs, impressive visuals and cutting-edge technology. The audio auto-syncs to the exhibits and helps people navigate the large expanse of the museum with indoor navigation.
PM Museum
With the holographic exhibit From the Ramparts of the Red Fort, the visitors can get a live experience to watch and listen to the historic speeches of all the Prime Ministers from the Red Fort. The Time Machine exhibit lets the visitors travel back in time through India’s nuclear journey.
The PM Museum offers each of its visitors a unique experience and something of value to take back home. It is a walkthrough of independent India that establishes a live connection with its glorious history.
